Governor Lujan Grisham approved over $48 million in capital outlay projects in Rio Arriba County, including funding for building improvements at Northern New Mexico College, water and utility projects and funding to construct a Chama-Tierra Amarilla Gas pipeline.
Local Economic Development Act appropriations, a program championed by Governor Lujan Grisham, have resulted in $400,000 in private investment in Rio Arriba County that will create 8 jobs. Governor Lujan Grisham’s administration supported 12 jobs in Rio Arriba County through the Job Training Incentive Program.
After visiting Chama and other communities in Rio Arriba following the December 2021 wind and snow storm, Governor Lujan Grisham pushed for and signed SB 141, legislation that would enable local governments to get propane supplies from another supplier, especially in the event of an emergency.
